About Us

Johanna

Johanna Imwalle is the founder of Swim Pro Long Island LTD. She has over 30 years of experience as  a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard including working for the Town of Riverhead. Johanna knows first-hand how important water safety and swimming is for children and parents.

She knows how to meet the unique needs of each swimmer regardless of age, ability, and learning needs. Johanna brings instructional games to assist with learning swimming skills. She strongly believes that everyone can learn, by creating lessons based on each individual's unique requirements.


Johanna has a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation and a Master’s Degree in Physical Education. Johanna teaches students Pre-K through grade 12. Johanna has seen her students go from fearing the water to loving the water, some have even become Water Safety Instructors and Lifeguards at Swim Pro Long Island. She loves seeing the sparkle in children's eyes when they are swimming.

Madison

Madison Santoro is a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor with  10 years of teaching swimming and 10 years of life-guarding experience including working for the Town of Riverhead.

Madison is an outgoing and friendly person. 


As an instructor, she is nurturing and patient but stern when needed. She will encourage new swimmers to have fun while learning new skills so that they can reach their goals in a safe, supportive environment.  Madison is passionate about swimming because she knows it’s a very important life skill.


Madison recently graduated from Sacred Heart University with a Master's Degree in Elementary

Education, teaching students grades 1-6.

Cristina

Cristina has been a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard for 12 years and Water Safety Instructor for 9 years including working for the Town of Riverhead. She strives to promote the importance of water safety and swimming. Cristina works to meet the needs of each swimmer regardless of age and ability.

Cristina believes that everyone should know how to swim and feel safe in the water. She strives to make this a fun, positive experience including games and challenges to keep swimmers engaged while learning.


Cristina loves to help people become stronger and more aware swimmers.


Cristina has a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and a Master’s Degree in Adapted Physical Education, teaching students grades K through grade 12.

Julie

Julie Imwalle grew up around the water. She learned to swim at the age of 2 in the Long Island Sound. At the age of 5, Julie began competitive swimming. After a few years, she joined the Long Island Synchronized Swim team, where she competed for 2 years. In high school, Julie joined her high school swim team. 


Growing up on the water led her to become a certified lifeguard at the age of 16. Following in her mother's and sister's footsteps, Julie pursued a career that would lead her to work in schools. 


She obtained a bachelor's degree from St. Joseph's College in Speech Communications and a Masters's degree in Early Childhood Special  Education through Adelphi University.  


Julie currently works with preschool students with disabilities and their families as a Chairperson in the Sachem Central School District and as an IEP Coordinator at Alternatives for Children. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and cooking.

Rick


Richard Brzozinski, is a dedicated Lifeguard Lieutenant with over 30 years of ocean lifeguarding experience including working for the Town of Oyster Bay. Rick has thousands of hours in the stand, over 200 water rescues and multiple CPR/AED saves.  


Rick has worked his way up from a rookie lifeguard to scheduling and overseeing over 90 lifeguards on the bay and ocean at TOBAY. Rick has gained the respect of his lifeguard and beach patrons with his outgoing personality. Water safety is number one for Rick as he has seen more than the average person in and around the water.  


He graduated from Virginia in 1991 with a Business Administration degree and was an All American wrestler. After working on Wall Street, Ricky knew he missed the beach in the summer as well as the wrestling mat. Rick went back to college to get his Masters Degree at Dowling University in secondary education. Rick is a History teacher, girls varsity soccer coach and wrestling coach at Central Islip High School.

Isabella

Isabella Wolff is a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and lifeguard with 2 years of experience. Isabella hopes that all kids, especially those who live on long island should be able to swim safely. 

Despite how busy she is, Isabella is an active member of her school's varsity swim team, her school's varsity lacrosse team, her club varsity lacrosse team, and does martial arts and dance. Isabella also participates in many clubs and extracurriculars. 

Isabella is an intelligent and considerate individual that enjoys socializing. She also enjoys working with kids and loves to teach.
